As an international company, we have a special responsibility towards our employees, the environment, and society. We aim to protect people and nature to preserve our livelihoods and ensure ecologically and socially responsible production.

Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate DNA. With a holistic ESG approach (environmental, social, and compliance), we combine innovation, responsibility, and sustainability. Our sustainability strategy is based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the EU’s Green Deal. We focus in particular on the following four areas:
SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
Promoting sustainable economic growth, full employment, and decent work.
SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
Building resilient infrastructures and promoting the energy transition.
SDG 12: Sustainable consumption and production
Ensuring sustainable and efficient use of resources, resource avoidance, and recycling of waste.
SDG 13: Climate action
Take immediate action to combat climate change.

Efficient recycling: In our remelting plant, we recycle up to 18,000 tons of aluminium every year – with only 5 % of the energy required for primary aluminium production.
Cooperation with certified suppliers: We select our partners according to strict criteria and attach particular importance to reducing emissions.
We have been a member of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) since 2021 and are actively committed to environmentally and socially responsible aluminium production. Certification according to ASI standards demonstrates our commitment to transparency and sustainable production along the entire aluminium value chain.
We guarantee fair and safe working conditions along our entire supply chain. At our sites, we promote the qualifications and health of our employees and rely on a value-oriented, diverse corporate culture.
We are actively involved in organizations such as ASI, A|U|F e.V. (Aluminium and Environment in Window and Façade Construction), and “Metalle pro Klima” – an initiative of companies in the non-ferrous metal industry in Germany that is committed to climate protection and the sustainable production of metals. In this way, we actively shape the standards of sustainable aluminium production.
The apt Group takes its responsibility seriously: with our corporate governance and compliance statutes, we constantly subject ourselves to comprehensive controls to fulfill legal and internal requirements. Our compliance documents are available on our website, and we run a whistleblower system where any violations can be reported.
