As an international company, we have a special responsibility towards our employees1 , but also towards the environment. Only by protecting people and nature can we preserve our livelihoods and set the course for ecologically and socially responsible production. We are committed to four essential core characteristics. They are part of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and correspond to the EU Green Deal.

Everyone has the right to decent, safe and rewarding working conditions. We are committed to this not only at our sites, but along the entire supply chain. That is why we only work with strictly selected and certified suppliers whose working conditions meet our high standards. At our sites, the focus is on people: this means that we invest in the qualifications and health of our employees and are committed to a value-oriented, diverse and cosmopolitan corporate culture

How we protect the climate

What distinguishes sustainable aluminum production at apt

With its long service life and optimum suitability for efficient recycling, aluminum is an excellent material for environmentally friendly production. Our efforts are focused on fully exploiting this potential.

Cooperation with certified suppliers

We select our suppliers according to strict criteria and demand the necessary certifications. In particular, the reduction of emissions plays a decisive role.

Recycling in our remelting plant

The recycling of technical aluminum scrap requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce primary aluminum. In our remelting plant, we recycle up to 18,000 tons of aluminum every year.

Participation in various organizations

We are committed to sustainable aluminium production through our involvement in various organisations and committees such as ASI, AIUIF e.V. and Metalle pro Klima. In this way, we are already setting the sustainability standards of tomorrow.
In addition, we have already implemented or planned many other measures. As part of our environmental, energy and quality management, we manage the sustainable use of the resources we use both internally and externally. Proactive management is part of continuous process improvement.
