The Chinese Inner Mongolia Mengtai Group Co., Ltd. acquired 100% of the shares in apt Group
Thomas Boddenberg succeeds Bernd Schäfer as Managing Director and CEO of the apt Group
Guido Pühse takes over 69.9% of the shares of apt Group with his GP Holding GmbH (D). 25% remain with Frans Kurvers and 5.1% are held by another minority shareholder
January: the 20 MN extrusion press in Monheim is replaced by a new, modern short-stroke front-loader press with 27 MN of pressing power
Bernd Schäfer joins as managing director and designated CEO of the apt Group thus succeeding Frans Kurvers
As of 1st July 2017, apt Hiller GmbH is renamed to apt Sedant Holding GmbH and functions as parent company. The operational extrusion activities are transferred to apt Extrusions GmbH & Co. KG. apt Kurvers B.V. is operating as apt Extrusions B.V.

An early contribution to sustainability: incorporation of a remelting unit to recycle in-house scrap.
Demand exceeds capacity: commissioning of a second extrusion press with 20 MN extrusion load
March: Expansion of capacity / relocation to the Monheim location
March: Start of production in Langenfeld with 20 employees and an 8 MN extruder. The monthly capacity amounts to 60 tonnes
