Powder coating aluminium
In addition to anodizing, powder coating aluminium can also be used for surface finishing. Which process is better suited to a customer’s application depends on the specific situation. This is because both anodizing and powder coating offer different advantages and disadvantages.
With powder coating aluminium, as the name suggests, a coating is applied to the aluminium. The process is generally more flexible and offers a wide range of colors for hall gates, windows, and door elements, for example. The disadvantage is that the corrosion protection is not as strong as with anodizing.
When anodizing aluminium, the entire surface is transformed by the chemical process, providing extremely robust corrosion protection. However, the process is associated with higher costs, especially for smaller application quantities.

Of course, we also offer our customers press-finished profiles, but there are many reasons why it is advantageous to have the surface finishing of the aluminium carried out by us. Our capacities and technical capabilities in this area are considerable:
We process up to 7 million square meters of anodizing aluminium every year – including profiles with lengths of up to 8 meters and layer thicknesses of 5 to 25 micrometers. We also have a strong position in powder coating and process around 1 million square meters per year.
In principle, we cover all services relating to anodizing aluminum. However, we have a particular focus on anodizing in accordance with E6 and C0. We have therefore acquired an extremely high level of expertise in this specific process.
For all other combinations except anodizing according to E6 and C0, we work together with external partners to be able to offer you the entire spectrum of aluminium surface finishing.
When anodizing aluminum, our customers receive all services from a single source. This means less organization and optimized logistics. The advantage: the fast and efficient processes significantly reduce production costs.
In addition, there is a high level of traceability in the event of a complaint. This enables us to resolve problems promptly and provide you with an optimum solution. Thanks to our ideal system settings and experienced team of experts, the complaint rate for our anodizing aluminum is very low.
Customers who have purchased aluminum profiles externally can also benefit from these strengths: We accept contract anodizing from certain order volumes. However, for a consistent process, we recommend ordering aluminum profiles directly from apt and having them further processed.
