The apt Group and its parent company, apt Holding GmbH, joined the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) in December. The ASI is a non-profit standards and certification organization for the aluminum value chain with the vision of maximizing aluminum’s contribution to a sustainable society. By joining, apt is underlining its strategy of making a sustainable contribution to the aluminum industry.
The apt Group has decided to emphasize its contribution to sustainability in the aluminum industry by joining the ASI. “We have decided to join the ASI and thus underline our commitment to sustainable action and future-oriented corporate management,” explains Michael Zint, CEO of the apt Group. “The apt Group is committed to sustainability and climate protection and is thus making its contribution to the German aluminum industry’s goal of being an enabler for the European Green Deal. ASI has developed into an organization whose certifications are recognized worldwide due to their scope, independence and transparency,” explains Zint.
About apt
The apt Group is one of the leading groups of companies in the European aluminum industry. It produces, processes and distributes aluminum profiles and products for the construction, transport, automotive and industrial sectors. With its four production sites, the group is divided into the divisions apt Extrusions (pressing) and apt Products (further processing). It covers the entire value chain – from development, recycling, aluminum extrusion, mechanical processing, surface finishing (anodizing vs. powder coating) to assembly and logistics. With around 1,000 employees, it generates a turnover of approximately 250 million euros per year.
About ASI
The Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) promotes measurable and continuous improvements in the key environmental, social and societal impacts of aluminum production, use and recycling. ASI is the only voluntary standards system that focuses on the entire global aluminum value chain. Its flagship is an independent certification program that covers both performance and chain of custody.
