With effect from October 1, 2021 and the preceding shareholder resolution, Michael Zint was appointed CEO of apt Holding GmbH.
Michael Zint comes from ST Extruded Products GmbH, where he was Managing Director from 2015 to 2021 and had overall responsibility for the ST Extruded Products Group. From 2010 to 2015, he was already part of this group of companies, then Aleris Extrusion, which was sold to the Sankyo Tateyama Group under his leadership in 2015 and has since been operating on the market as the ST Extruded Products Group. Born in Austria, he has been associated with the aluminum industry since the mid-1990s through various management positions in different countries, through his activities at the Norsk Hydro Group.
“Michael Zint has a deep insight into the development direction of the aluminum processing industry and has a deep understanding of the aluminum extrusion and profile processing market in Europe, especially Mr. Zint has extensive management experience in aluminum processing enterprises,” said Ao Bo, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of apt Group. “We believe that Michael Zint’s joining apt Group will play a significant role in improving the market impact of apt Group in line with the development strategy of the shareholder of Mengtai Group.”

As CEO, Michael Zint succeeds Thomas Boddenberg, who has been acting in a dual role as CEO of apt Holding GmbH in addition to his role as Managing Director of apt Extrusions GmbH & Co. KG on an interim basis since October 24, 2019. Thomas Boddenberg will return to his original role as Managing Director of apt Extrusions GmbH & Co.
The apt Group is one of the leading groups of companies in the European aluminum industry. It produces, processes and distributes aluminum profiles and products for the construction, transport, automotive and industrial sectors. With its four production sites, the group is divided into the divisions apt Extrusions (pressing) and apt Products (further processing).
