Aluminum extrusion (process) is a manufacturing process for the production of profiles with a constant cross-sectional shape in which aluminum or aluminum alloys are pressed through a die/tool.
Procedure
- 1. the blank (aluminum block) is heated to a high temperature.
- 2. the blank is pressed through the die under high pressure.
- 3 The resulting profile is cooled and cut.
Advantages
- Production of complex profile shapes possible.
- Efficient use of materials.
- Consistent quality along the entire profile.
Applications
- Window and door frames.
- Rails and cables.
- Structural parts in aviation or vehicle construction.
